Focus and Scope

An-Nisa’ Journal of Gender Studies (e-ISSN 2654-4784; p-ISSN 2086-0749) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service, Universitas Islam Negeri Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq Jember. The journal focuses on interdisciplinary gender studies within Muslim societies and global contexts, with particular emphasis on contemporary gender issues through critical and interdisciplinary approaches.

An-Nisa’ Journal of Gender Studies is dedicated to disseminating high-quality and original research that explores the integration of gender perspectives into the contexts of education, religion, culture, policy, environment, and contemporary social dynamics, thereby contributing to global academic discourse as well as practical developments across diverse societies worldwide.

The journal welcomes manuscripts on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • - Gender, violence, and social justice
  • - Gender in Islamic education and religious discourse
  • - Gender, culture, and media representation
  • - Gender policy and women’s empowerment
  • - Gender, environment, and ecofeminism

An-Nisa’ Journal of Gender Studies seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing a platform for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to contribute to the development of more inclusive, critical, and contextual gender discourses within Muslim societies and an increasingly globalised world.
